Paula L. (Bunch) Brocksmith 71, of Peoria Heights, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021. She was born September 6, 1949, in LaHarpe, IL. The daughter of Robert E. and Helen I. (Kershner) Bunch of Colchester, IL. She was married to James O. Campbell of Macomb, IL, from 1972 to 1980. She then married Derald G. Brocksmith of Quincy, IL, on January 2, 1981. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2012.
Paula attended Northwestern High School in Sciota, IL, and business school in Davenport, IA. Upon returning to Macomb, she started her career at Gentry Bryant Ford in Macomb, IL. For a short period of time, she worked as an insurance broker. She then went on to work for S & K Chevrolet prior to it becoming Green Chevrolet, who additionally acquired ownership of Finish Line Ford, now Green Ford, as the Office Manager and Comptroller. She worked there until her death, completing 37 years. She will be terribly missed, as all of the employees were graciously touched by her presence and extreme knowledge of the business.
Paula is survived by her father Robert E. Bunch; one daughter Cristina M. (Campbell) James Slater of Peoria Heights, IL; one grandchild Alexander C. (Bailee) Campbell of FL; four stepchildren: Christopher G. (Erica) Brocksmith of NC, Donald S. (Jolene) Brocksmith of IL, Robi G. (Tim) Lyons of TX, James H. (Ginny) Brocksmith of WI; one brother Gary Bunch of IN; two sisters Susan Niel of KS, Julia (Phil) Winiecki of IL; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; 10 grandchildren;15 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, special friend Mark Reiner and many other wonderful friends, including Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Ficociello and Sandy Ziemer.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, grandparents, Robert M. and Mildred Bunch of Good Hope, IL, and Jule and Leona Kershner of Lomax, IL.
Per Paula’s wishes, cremation rites have been entrusted to Cumerford Clary Funeral Home. A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Online tributes and condolences may be made at www.cumerfordclary.com.
