Wilda P. Best, age 94, of Peoria died at 3:05 pm on February 20, 2013 at Kindred Hospital of Greater Peoria.
She was born on April 4 1918 in Valley Center, KS to Herbert and Ethel (Shirk) Koble. She married Roy Best on January 3, 1937 in Hutchinson, KS. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1983.
Surviving are one daughter: Mrs. Keith (Lois) Scholfield and two grandchildren of Chicago, Susan Blake and David Rawlings Scholfield. Wilda's parents, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Wilda graduated from Valley Center High School in KS in 1936.
She was last employed as a buyer for Peoria Bergners retiring in 1980.
Wilda was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Order of the Eastern Star, and Bergner's Retirees and was a member of Glen Oak Christian Church in Peoria.
She lived life to the fullest. She loved college and pro basketball and was a loyal fan of Bradley basketball holding season tickets for many years. She lived at Proctor Endowment Home in Peoria for the past ten years where she enjoyed playing cards and games with her many friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 2pm at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home, 428 W. McClure Ave. Peoria. Rev. Randy Williams will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Springdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Daughter's of the Nile, Order of the Eastern Star, Proctor Endowment Home or to the Glen Oak Christian Church.
