Thomas "Tom" Skaggs

Thomas Lyle “Tom” Skaggs, 84, of Peoria, Ill passed away on Saturday January 8, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill. He was born on March 24, 1937 in Peoria, Ill. The son of Walter E. and Wilma L. (Block) Skaggs.

Tom worked for the Peoria Park District as the Assistance Park Manager for 26 years. He also worked at Keystone Steel & Wire for 12 years. He was a member of NAMAC, AMVETS Post # 46, founding member of Navy Marine Club of Peoria Heights, Chairman Peoria (VAC) Veterans Assistance Commission and was a lifetime member of the Illinois Bowling Association.

He is survived by one sister Helen (Jim) Waddell of Manito, Ill and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, one sister: Wilma “Lorraine” Pettit, two brothers: Walter J. “Jim” Skaggs and Everett Skaggs.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday June 21, 2022 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL. Service will begin at 1pm.
