Stephen Hartseil

Stephen Allen Hartseil, age 72 of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Steve was born on July 4, 1948 in Peoria to Ellis Alfred “Al” and June Carol (Henderson) Hartseil.  He married Dianne Beth Crisp on May 17, 1975 in Peoria.

Surviving are his wife, Dianne, of Peoria; his children, Stephen (Melinda) Hartseil of St. Petersburg, FL and Brandi Hartseil of Peoria, IL; one grandson, Ryan Eyer; one sister, Judy Chance of Peoria Co; his brother, Chuck (Jacquie Mace) Hartseil of Normal, IL; his aunt, Eileen Coughlin of Bartonville, IL and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Caroline Anderson.

Steve served his country in the U.S. Navy.  He worked for Eagle Foods and later for Office Max until he retired in 2010.  He was an avid bowler and active member of the Greater Peoria Bowling Association.  Steve was also a loyal Chicago Cubs and NASCAR fan.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a private family graveside service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veteran’s Association or the Greater Peoria Bowling Association.  Arrangements are under the care of Cumerford-Clary Funeral Home in Peoria.
