Shawn Walsh

Shawn A. Walsh, 46, of Peoria, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria. Jeff Leeman will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in West Peoria.
Shawn was born on September 9, 1970 in Peoria, a son of Joseph “Tony” and Candace (Messersmith) Walsh. He was preceded in death by his mother, his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.
He is survived by his father of Lacon; son, Jesse Walsh of Lacon; siblings, Joseph (Jordan Coile) Walsh of Green Valley, John Walsh of Lacon and Haley Walsh of Elkhorn, WI; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Jane Henrikson of Bartonville; and uncle, Randy (Michelle) Messersmith of Bartonville.
Shawn will be remembered as a loving dad, son, brother and grandson. His favorite hobbies were fishing, art music and cooking. He collected movies, memorabilia and old pictures. He was a Chicago Cubs fan.
His family described him as “Good Time Shawn”. He had a wild side and was one of a kind.
Memorial contributions may be made in Shawn’s memory to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
