Sarah Shearer

Sarah “Sally” A. Shearer, 86, of Peoria, passed away at 6:02 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Riverview Senior Living in East Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on July 28, 2017 at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria. Jeff Leeman will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
Sally was born on August 23, 1930 in Macomb, the daughter of Lee and Pauline (Bovey) Holstine. She married Giles Edward Shearer on September 26, 1946 in Macomb. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1992 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two great grandsons, Keegan Gallup and Brandon Michael Shearer.
She is survived by her children, Sherri Carmody of Oak Park, Michael (Minie) Shearer of Dunlap and Becky (Mike) Wyman of Lakewood, CO; grandchildren, Krista Carmody, Wyatt (Betty) Page, Robert Camper, Jr., Heather Bundren and Keri (Tyler) Lopez; and seven great grandchildren.
Sally worked for AT&T for 45 years. She then worked for over ten years in the gift shop at Wildlife Prairie Park as a supervisor. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was very active in the Illinois Telephone Pioneers.
Memorial contributions may be made in Sally’s memory to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
