Santiago Araiza Brenes, 81, of Peoria, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
His Funeral Liturgy will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2012, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at Jardin de la Esperanza in Ecuandureo, MX.
Santiago was born in La Soledad, MX on August 29, 1931, a son of Jose Maria and Maria Navor (Brenes) Araiza. The preceded him in death, along with four sisters and two brothers. He married Virginia Garibay on March 27, 1968 in Michoacan, MX. She survives.
He is also survived by his sons, Santiago (Maria) Araiza of Peoria Heights, Rafael (Alejandra) Araiza, Francisco (Angelica) Araiza and Jesus Araiza all of Peoria; daughters, Nancy (Javier) Lugo, Monica (Manuel) Vega and Maribel (Juan) Qintero all of Dalton, GA; thirty-two grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Santiago was a parishioner of The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Peoria and he was formerly employed at ConAgra Poultry.
