Ruth “Ruthie” Craig Yingling 88, of Peoria passed away on Friday September 17, 2021 at her residence. She was born on November 11, 1932 in Rochester, PA the daughter John and Hazel Craig III. She married Thomas Yingling on September 10, 1955 in Mt. Lebanon, PA.
She is survived by husband Thomas Yingling of Peoria, two sons William “Bill” (Gail) Yingling of Bettendorf, IA; Ron (Kelly) Yingling of Washington, IL; one daughter Amy Yingling of Dunlap, IL; five grandchildren Erin Yingling of Bettendorf, IA; Logan Yingling of Fort Collins, CO, Casey (Brian) Wikoff of Morton, IL, Carly (Andrew) Cassato of Littleton, CO; Annie Yingling of Dunlap, IL and three great grandchildren Liam, Odin and Margie.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother John “Brad” Bradford Craig III.
She attended Penn State University for two years where she met her husband. Ruthie was a member of Red Hats and United Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed playing in the handball choir. She enjoyed bears, playing cards, golfing and bowling. Ruthie will be remembered as a loving, compassionate and patient wife and mother. One of the brightest moments in her life is when she could help others.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at United Presbyterian Church from 10am to 11am. Funeral service will start at 11am. Pastor Deborah Avery will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Due to Covid 19 local and state guidelines masks will be required. Cumerford-Clary Funeral Home is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
