Roberta Heiden

Roberta MacLean Heiden, 92, passed away on May 26, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Born December 23, 1921 in Peoria, Illinois, she is predeceased by her parents, Grace and Hector MacLean, her late husband of 69 years, Ray Frederick Heiden and their daughter, Joan Johnson Howard. Surviving are her brother Mac MacLean of Decatur, Il, two sons, Stephen Kirk Heiden, and Timothy A.F. Heiden of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Roberta graduated from Peoria Central High School, attended University of Alabama and De Pauw University. She married her late husband, Ray F. Heiden, July 14, 1943, and soon joined Caterpillar Tractor Co. to assist in the war effort. She was a loving mother and a community volunteer serving the Junior League of Peoria, Lakeview Art Museum, Family House and many other committees. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Peoria and Fort Lauderdale and the Country Club of Peoria.
Services will be held in Peoria, IL. At First Federated Church, 3601 N Sheridan Rd. on Friday June 20th. Viewing at 1:00pm, Memorial service at 2:00pm. Memorial gifts in her honor may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 401 SE 15th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
