Robert C. “Uncle Bob” Lucas, 52, of Peoria, passed away at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Washington Christian Village.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
Bob was born on May 11, 1961 in Peoria, the son of Ronald Dean and Ruby I. (Whitehurst) Lucas. They preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Ellen Lucas of Florence, AL; brothers, Ron (Tina) Lucas of Florence and Don (Julann) Lucas of Washington; nieces and nephews, George, P.J., Josh, Mya and Melanie; and stepbrother, James McGrew of Las Vegas, NV.
Bob enjoyed volunteering for Easter Seals and Catholic Social Services, working in his garden and cheering for the Chicago White Sox, Green Bay Packers, and Jimmy Johnson in NASCAR.
He loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews and watch them grow up. He enjoyed hearing about all of their accomplishments in sports and everything they did. He was loving, caring and would do anything he could to help his family.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the Children’s Hospital of Illinois at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
