Raymond T Weitzel, 82, of Peoria died on Monday, April 12, 2014.
He was born on December 19, 1931 to Raymond Weitzel and Mary E. (Huckaby) Weitzel in Springfield. He married Jeanette Kolowski in1951, she passed on December 18, 1970. He later married Leticia Rebholz in 1972. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2009. He last resided with his beloved Fay McGowan.
Surviving are his four daughters, Ramona J. Weitzel of Peoria, Jeanette M. Marberry of Peoria Heights, Mary Beth Weitzel of Peoria, and Teresa L. Weidler of LeRoy, two sons, Raymond M. Weitzel of Peoria, and Matthew R. Weitzel of Pekin, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three brothers, Murt (Mimi) Weitzel of Tucson, Arizona, Patrick (Marilyn) Weitzel of Peoria, and Joseph Moss of Bartonville, and two sisters, Mary E. Brod of Arizona, and Margaret (Jerome) Morrissey of Peoria.
Raymond was a truck driver for many years, and a Teamster Union Member. He enjoyed camping, drinking beer, fishing and hunting. He was involved in the Knights of Columbus, Silver Sneakers Group, and Tuesday morning senior citizens group.
In keeping with his philosophy and his wishes, 'A Celebration of Life' will be held at St. Monica's Hall in East Peoria on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
