Norma "Jean" Crone

Norma “Jean” Crone, 97, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Lutheran Hillside

Village in Peoria, Illinois. She was born on April 9, 1926, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Virgil and

Rose (Williams) Gowdy.  Jean married Donald Crone June 25, 1949 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2003.

She was a homemaker and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Jean enjoyed shopping trips with LHV friends and vacations to Colorado.

Jean is survived by her son, Les (Karen) Crone of St. Petersburg, Florida; daughter, Susan

Crone of Peoria, Illinois; grandson, Jason Crone of Katy, Texas; and great granddaughter,

Kayley Crone of Richmond, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Crone; and daughter, Karen D. Crone.

Funeral services will be held at Cumerford-Clary Funeral Home (428 W. McClure Ave) on Saturday September 2, 2023 at 11am with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Chip Winter will officiate the service. Burial will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to PAWS or a charity of your choice.
