Nina David

Nina David, 101, of Peoria, Illinois passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Christian Buehler Home in Peoria, IL.  She was born on February 26, 1922 in Kewanee, Illinois to Joseph and Anna (Ptasnik) Kalvin.

She worked for Caterpillar in the payroll department, then in the Credit Union at the Regional Research Lab, and also with Peoria Savings and Loan. 

Nina married Walter David on August 04, 1945 in Kewanee, Illinois.  She is survived by sons James David of Dunlap, Illinois and William (Bonnie) David of E. Peoria, Illinois; five grandchildren Mark (Samantha) David, Brian (Jennifer) David, Jeff David, James David, and Jennifer David; five great grandchildren Clayton, Adeline, Jacob, Bentley, and Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.

Nina was a very loving and giving mother and grandmother, who in her life was active at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Peoria, teaching Sunday School and Bible School, helping with bazaars, being on the Altar Guild, and a member of St. Martha’s Guild.  She enjoyed traveling, biking, gardening, walking, reading, dining out, and keeping in touch with friends and relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Peter Kalvin. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 06, 2023 from 10:15 am to 11:00 am at St. Michael and All Angels Church at the corner of Glen and Knoxville in Peoria, Illinois.  Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am.  Father Tom Tirman will lead the service. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery.
