Michelle Tudor

April 9, 1991 — September 13, 2014

Michelle Marie Tudor, 23, of Dunlap, passed away at 8:38 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at UnityPoint Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria, with Reverend Mike Shirey officiating. There will be no visitation.
Michelle was born on April 9, 1991 in LaGrange, the daughter of Robert and Linda (Miller) Tudor II. Michelle lived with her family in Downers Grove, White Lake, MI, and Dunlap. She enjoyed playing “Nintendo” and adaptive horseback riding with her brother, swimming with family and friends, shopping with mom and adaptive skiing and sailing with dad.
While living in Michigan, she looked forward each summer to her week at Camp Quality with all the great counselors (especially Shannon Ryan and her first “crush” Patrick) and frequent trips to Mackinac Island with family and dear friends “Uncle” Dean, Diane, Jay and Jenny Kitchen and participating in Miracle League of Michigan baseball and gymnastics with her close friends, Annalisa Varnau and Malia Christensen.
After moving to Dunlap, Michelle attended Dunlap Middle School and Dunlap High School; graduating in June 2013. While attending high school, she participated in Best Buddies through which several people became very important in her life (Sully Curtin, Madison Marvel, and Leah Brooks, among others).
Michelle also became involved in the Penguin Project, where she met her dearest friend, MacKinzee Smith and nurtured a growing relationship with Michelle Holdham. She attended summer camp with the Penguins at Easter Seals- Timber Pointe. She also enjoyed activities at HIRSA & PARC and making lasting friendships with Bridget Daly and others.
Michelle attended Northminster Church and participated in the Angel Arms Special Needs Program.
Michelle is survived by her parents, Bob and Linda Tudor II of Dunlap; grandparents, Bob and Lorraine Tudor of Forreston and Joan (Bob) Miller-Musil of Burr Ridge; aunts and uncles, Mark (Nora) Miller, John (Dennis Artman) Tudor, Cathy (Tom) O’Keefe, Ed (Mary) Tudor and Jim (Becky) Tudor; cousins, Rebecca (Nate) Champneys, Sara (Tim) Trott, Kaitlyn and T.J. O’Keefe, Vicky, Emily and Chrissy Tudor and four first cousins once removed.
Michelle was preceded in death by her brother, Jason Bryce Tudor; her “Papa”, Robert Miller; Godmother, Jan Flyte; “Aunt”, Betty Musil; and “Uncle” Vic Varnau.
Michelle was an amazing inspiration to all the many lives she touched. She always had a sweet smile and gentle demeanor in the face of a lifelong progressive and debilitation genetic disease. A “fighter” to the end, she was a true angel on earth!
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Michelle’s memory to The Penguin Project, 306 West Morningside Drive, Peoria, IL 61614.
