Michael Tranchitella

Michael John Tranchitella, 65, of Peoria, passed away at 5:18 a.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2015, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
A memorial visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
Michael was born on July 27, 1950 in Peoria, a son of Mathew and Ann (Peterson) Tranchitella. They preceded him in death. He was formerly married to Alice Barry. He married Michele L. Osterman on March 4, 1978 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peoria. She survives.
He is also survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Ed) Ross of Seattle, WA, Angela (Paul) Nibbelin of Lacon and Theresa (Zac Cherry) Tranchitella; sister, Donna (Tim) Walsh of Rowlett, TX; brothers, James (Cathie) Tranchitella of Peoria and Tom (Marla) Tranchitella of Richardson, TX; grandchildren, Alexa, Carson, Caz, Skylar, Anders and Aven; and several nieces and nephews.
Michael retired as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, after thirty-three years of service. After his retirement, he was employed as a Customer Service Representative for the RiverPlex and for the Peoria Park District at Newman Golf Course.
He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed off track betting, bowling and playing poker with his family and friends. He was a dedicated father, husband and grandfather. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
