Mason “Mace” M. Reardon, 89, of Peoria, passed away at 10:23 a.m. on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Lutheran Hillside Village Senior Living Center.
Funeral services will be private. There will be no public visitation.
Mace was born in Plato, MO on January 6, 1928, the son of James and Gladys (Anderson) Reardon. He married Arlene Brown on May 16, 1948 in Van Buren, MO. She survives.
He is also survived by his sons, Richard (Janet) Reardon of Libertyville and Dr. Bradley (JoHannah) Reardon of Sycamore; sister, Novella Arms; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Mace was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce; and two sisters, Nel Keeney and Geraldine Matters.
He graduated from Licking High School in Missouri and served two years in the United States Navy. He owned and operated a four chair barber shop for fifty years. He retired to do his love of successfully training and showing American Saddlebreds, Arabians, Hackneys and Welsh ponies. He donated many trophies to the Handicap Riding School in East Peoria.
Mace was a member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church and Grandview Lodge of Peoria Heights.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mace’s memory to Lutheran Hillside Village, Apostolic Christian Skylines or to Parkinson’s disease Foundation.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
