Marjorie Brooks

Marjorie D. Brooks, 95, of East Peoria, IL passed away on Tuesday March 08, 2022 at her residence. She was born on June 3, 1926 in Revere, MO. The daughter of Lonnie and Goldie (Kinkade) Brickey. She married Gerald Brooks on September 11, 1948 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2009.

She graduated from OSF St. Francis College of Nursing in 1947. She worked as a Registered Nurse for OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria retiring in 1990. Marjorie was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church of Peoria Heights and the OSF Senior Saints. She was a 10-year cancer survivor.

She grew up on a farm and had a love for horses, cats and dogs. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, she enjoyed years of traveling the country with her husband Jerry, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Marjorie is survived by one son Ron Brooks of Peoria, AZ; two daughters Kathy (Chuck) McCarty of East Peoria, Patty (Bob) Keenan of East Peoria; eight grandchildren Andrew Hebert (Lisa), Chris Hebert, Amanda (McCarty) Meyer (Doug), Tucker Brooks, Kellie (Brooks) Topczewski, Aaron McCarty (Kristy), Joseph Keenan, Matthew Keenan and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, one daughter Sandra (Brooks) Hebert and one son Randy Brooks.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday March 15, 2022 from 11am to 12pm at Cumerford-Clary Funeral Home at 428 West McClure in Peoria, IL. Funeral services will begin at 12pm. Monsignor Jason Gray will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
