Marilynn Leary

Marilynn E. Leary, 82, of Peoria, passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013, at Heartland Health Care Center in Peoria.
A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville, with Fr. David C. Heinz as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
Marilynn was born on April 12, 1931 in Peoria, the daughter of Harold A. and Dorothy E. (Mayall) Joos. They preceded her in death, along with a son, John Lewis Leary III.
She is survived by her son, Matthew (Sherri) Leary, Sr. of Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter, Lynnette (Kevin) Kepler of Peoria Heights; grandsons, Matthew (Trina) Leary, Jr. of West Peoria, Erik Kepler of Peoria Heights, Mark Leary of Lee’s Summit and Jacob Kepler of Knoxville, TN; great granddaughter, Kaylen Leary of West Peoria; and great grandson, Matthew Leary III of West Peoria.
Marilynn retired as a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care and was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville, where she was a former member of the choir. She was also a volunteer for RCIA, TEC and Cursillo. She enjoyed crafts, reading and crocheting.
Memorial contributions may be made in Marilynn’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association-Central Illinois Chapter or to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
