Marilyn J. Howard, 79, of Peoria Heights, passed away at 11:51 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at her home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with Pastor Robert Debolt officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Trivoli Township Cemetery.
Marilyn was born on April 19, 1938 in Elmwood, a daughter of Lyman and Anita (Andrews) Plumer. She married Donald William “Bill” Howard on March 1, 1959 in Trivoli. He survives.
She is also survived by her children, LeAnn (Steve) Longo of Ontario, CA and Donna (Shawn) Curley of Roanoke; grandchildren, Justin, Scott and Elizabeth Curley and Nicholas and Danielle Longo; sister, Mary Sewell of Bartonville; and many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Marjorie Grove and Robert Plumer.
She worked at the Children’s Home as an administrative assistant until she retired in 2001. She was a Charter Member and past President of the Peoria Chapter of the Flamelighters Association. She was also a Mary Kay Consultant for 20 years.
Marilyn loved spending quality time with family; especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She also enjoyed getting together with old friends from high school and work.
Memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn’s memory to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or to the Peoria Heights Fire Department.
