Marilyn Gottwald

Marilyn Jean Gottwald, 77, of Peoria, passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at her home.
Her funeral liturgy will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with Fr. David Richardson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded, following services.
Marilyn was born on December 14, 1937 in Peoria, a daughter of Ralph Edwin and Jean Lucille (Roberts) McMorris. She married David Loren Gottwald on June 29, 1957 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Glen McMorris; and brothers in-law, Charles Herring and Al Sloan.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Gottwald of Peoria; son, Paul (Donna) Gottwald of Peoria; granddaughters, Sarah (Ryan) Smith and Allison Gottwald, all of Peoria; sisters, Shirley Herring of Washington, Laurie Sloan of Kansas City, KS and Valerie (Eugene) Stamper of Washington; brothers, Walter (Diane) McMorris of Buckeye, AZ and Martin (Pamela) McMorris of Calhan, CO; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marilyn was a 1951 graduate of St. Patrick Grade School in Peoria, a 1955 graduate of Manual Training High School and attended Illinois Central College and Bradley University.
In 1997, she retired as a supervisor with Caterpillar, after working in various parts departments. She was a parishioner of St. Philomena Parish and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
