Louise Root

Louise H. Root, 90, of Bartonville, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012, at Fondulac Rehab and Healthcare in East Peoria.
Graveside services and interment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, with Elder Ron Morris officiating.
Louise was born in Peoria on July 22, 1921, a daughter of Earl R. and Alice (Yaunck) Sunkin. She married Raymond Root on June 1, 1957 in Peoria. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jack Sunkin.
She is survived by her nephew, Earl “Butch” (Carolyn) Sunkin of East Peoria; niece, Jaquline (Dick) Hensley of Indianapolis; and several great nieces and nephews.
Louise retired as a secretary with Durdel Tree Service and was formerly employed as a secretary with Transmission Supply.
She was a member of Bethel Bible Church in Edwards, the American Business Women’s Association, the Izaak Walton League and the Peoria Elk’s Emblem Club.
Memorial contributions may be made in Louise’s memory to the Bethel Bible Church in Edwards.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria.
