Lorraine Goveia

D. Lorraine Goveia, 90, of Peoria, formerly of Decatur, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Manor Court at Liberty Village in Peoria.
She was born on March 21, 1924 in Decatur, a daughter of Charles and Dorothy A. (Buskirk) Cutler. They preceded her in death, along with a sister, Opal Phee and brother, Ernest Franklin Cutler. She married Donald K. Goveia on June 29, 1946 in Decatur.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, of Peoria; daughter, Janet Newton of Peoria; sister, Alice Hayes of Decatur; brother, Charles William Cutler of Boise, ID; grandchildren, Ria Joseph of Buffalo Grove, Ross (Amanda) Mashing of Washington, Katrin Sanders of Tiskilwa and Jessica (Dusty) Gilges of Bradford; and seven great grandchildren.
She retired in 1983, after twenty-three years of service, as a Librarian for the Decatur Herald & Review and formerly volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Services will be private, with interment at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The South Side Mission in Peoria.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
