Lonnie Dean Putney, 59, of Peoria, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013, at the VA Hospital in Danville.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with the Rev. James H. Knight, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
Lonnie was born on August 3, 1953 in Peoria, a son of Frederick E. and Donna J. (Chambers) Putney. They survive.
He is also survived by his sister, Charlene (William) Weber of Silver Lake, WI; brothers, Dennis (Pam) Putney of Elmwood and Ronald (Faith) Putney of Valparaiso, FL; nieces, April, Robin, Holly, Hope and Dee Ann; nephews, Robert, Travis, Tommy, Nathan and Grant; and ten great nieces and nephews.
Lonnie was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam War veteran. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and watching pro wrestling. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, and was devoted to the care and wellbeing of his parents. Everyone who knew him, loved him and he will be missed greatly by all.
