Leslie Richard Wolfe died on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Methodist Hospital.
He was born on September 10, 1938 in Peoria, IL to Wilbur G. Wolfe and Thelma Katherine Mullen. He married Shirley L. Anderson on December 24, 1964 in Peoria, IL.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Mitch (Mindy) Wolfe of Marquette Heights, IL, and Mark(Robyn) Wolfe of Morton, IL, and four grandchildren, Greg, Derek, Drew, and Colton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wilbur Wolfe.
Les was a U.S. Army Veteran. He served as a Combat Engineer and received an Honorable Discharge in 1963.
Les began working for Caterpillar in 1963. He started as a metallurgical welder and later worked in Research and Development/ Weld Engineering. He retired in 1993.
Les enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening and sharing his crop with family and friends. He was a superb cook and it filled his heart to see the enjoyment it brought to others. Les had a deep love for animals. He loved spending time in his yard feeding the birds and squirrels with his best buddy Moe (Basset Hound) by his side.
