Leonard Gunter

Leonard E. Gunter, 73, of West Peoria, passed away at 5:44 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with the Rev. O.L. Gunter officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
Leonard was born on February 10, 1941 in Benton, a son of Bert and Rena L. (Lance) Gunter. They preceded him in death, along with his son, Charles David Gunter, and sister, Leona Whetstone. He married Diane E. Keefer on July 9, 1983 in Bellevue. She survives.
He is also survived by his daughters, Linda (Andrew) Hattermann of Peoria, Rhonda (Todd) Schubert of East Peoria and Monica (Brian) Martinie of Peoria; brothers, Deuard (Lorraine) Gunter and Paul (Judith) Gunter of Edwards, Rev. O.L. (Judith) Gunter of Sulphur, LA, Lloyd (Lenay) Gunter of Peoria and Virgil Dean (Shirley) Gunter of Zeigler; sisters, Bertha Sullivan of West Frankfort, Elsie Duckworth of Washington and Dorothy Hamby of Brimfield; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Leonard was a member of The Pentecostals of Peoria on Malone and enjoyed working in his yard, spending time with his family and woodworking.
