Leon Robinson

Leon Robinson, 82, of Peoria, Illinois passed away on Tuesday January 17, 2023 at his residence. He was born on December 4, 1940 in Ruleville, Mississippi the son of Jesse Robinson and Bertha Mae Johnson. He was raised by LJ and Lucinda May. He married Glorier Holmes on November 17, 1969 in Bloomington, Illinois.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Leon later worked as a Carpenter / Construction worker for Becker Brothers of Peoria and Peoria Blacktop before working for himself. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs. Leon was a member of Rising Sun Church of Peoria.

Leon is survived by his wife Glorier Robinson of Peoria; three daughters Karen Jackson of Peoria, Sharon Robinson of Peoria, Lynn Robinson of Peoria; ten grandchildren Christopher, David Jr, Darius, Kira, Nicole, Derrick, Abbey, Aundrea, Britny, Coresa; six great grandchildren Junia, Micah, Adrian, Marshall, Ameriah, Kyree and one sister Jessie Mae (Noverta) Payton of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers Sammie Lee Robinson, Henry Lee Robinson, Gerald Wilson; two sisters Deliah Cribbs and Geraldine Wilson.

A visitation will be held on Friday January 27, 2023 at Cumerford – Clary Funeral Home in Peoria from 10am to 11am. Funeral service will begin at 11am Pastor Deveraux Hubbard will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Parkview Cemetery.
