Kenneth J. “Ken” Wickert II, 64, of Peoria, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Toulon Health Care Center, surrounded by his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016, at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Peoria, with Fr. Dustin Schultz as celebrant. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in West Peoria.
Ken was born on February 9, 1952 in Peoria, a son of Kenneth J. “Jack” and LaVerne Jane (Kuske) Wickert. They preceded him in death, along with a daughter, Sara Wickert. He married Carol A. Schlink on May 10, 1980 at St. Philomena Parish in Peoria. She survives.
He is also survived by his daughters, Julie Wickert of Washington and Cassie (Tyler) Whitney of Peoria; brother, David (Peggy) Wickert of Pekin; and sister, Patty (Tim) Shoff of Washington.
Ken earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Illinois State University. He was employed at University Ford for thirty years, last serving as their Parts Manager.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Toulon Health Care Center and the family would like to thank Team Toulon for the wonderful care that was given to Ken.
