Kenneth Gritton

Kenneth L. “Kenny” Gritton, 80, of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
A memorial visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria. Inurnment will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
Kenny was born in Paxton on February 8, 1931, a son of Raymond and Nova (Turner) Gritton. They preceded him in death, along with one daughter, Sherry Just. He married Shirley J. Wahlquist in Peoria on March 31, 1975. She survives.
He is also survived by his son, Terry (Linda) Gritton of Bartonville; stepchildren, Karen (Martin) Collier, Gary Jackson and Paula Howe, all of Peoria; and three grandchildren.
Kenny was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Rome Industries in Peoria and was a member of Teamsters Local 627. He was a truck driver for local trucking companies for thirty-eight years.
