Jonelle M. Stokes Johnson

Jonelle M. Stokes Johnson, 79, of Peoria, Illinois passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 13, 1944 in Peoria, Illinois. The daughter of John and Lillie (Page) Stokes.

Jonelle retired from Caterpillar as an Editorial Machine Manager. She loved watching reality shows.  She was a Nascar Racing superfan.

She is survived by children:  sons, Elmer Cordell (Jenny) Johnson, IV of Morton, IL and Michael Vincent (Beth) Johnson of Peoria, IL and two sisters:  Patricia Polk of West Peoria, IL and Judy Adkisson of Peoria, IL.  Eight grandchildren: Emma, Ethan, Kaylee, Alexandria, Kaylee, Devin, Ally, Jaylen, a host of great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Jonelle is preceded in death by her parents and brother, John J. Stokes, III.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by the service at 11:00am at Cumerford-Clary Funeral Home in Peoria, Illinois. Reverend Robert Costic will officiate.  Burial will follow at Springdale Cemetery.
