Jaquille Tavion Tidwell-Johns, 16, of Peoria, passed away at 4:24 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 305 South Madison Park Terrace in Peoria, with Dr. Charles J.D. Tillman officiating. Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded, following services.
Jaquille was born in Peoria on October 11, 1995, a son of Steven and Felicia (Tidwell) Johns. They survive.
He is also survived by his brothers, Anageon, Je’Lani and Ahmad Grant of Atlanta, GA and Todd Wright, Anthony Bell and Johnathon Tidwell of Peoria; sisters, Shampalet (Earnest) Williams, Silka Tidwell and Saniya Tidwell-Johns of Peoria; paternal grandparents, Rose (Dr. Charles J.D.) Tillman; maternal grandmother, Mary Tidwell; maternal grandfather, George Duncan; maternal great grandfather, David Duncan; six nieces; five nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jaquille was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Johnny Johns; uncles, Ronnie Foster and Louis Thomas; and great cousin, Jeffrey Thomas.
He was a sophomore at Manual Academy in Peoria and enjoyed basketball, football, music, video games and wrestling with his nieces and nephews.
Jaquille was a member of the Peoria Riverplex, enjoyed spending his time at the Proctor Recreation Center and was formerly active in JFL Football.
He will be remembered as a happy, polite, well-mannered young man, who always took care of his little sister. He was always smiling, playing and joking.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
