Janice Nelson

Janice Nelson, 81, of Peoria, passed away at 7:20 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014 at UnityPoint Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Bartonville United Methodist Church with Pastor Nick Jordan officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.
Janice was born on September 3, 1933 in Vermont, IL, a daughter of John and Eula (McCamant) Giles. She married Harold “Pete” Nelson in Las Vegas on August 30, 1982. He survives.
She is also survived by one son, Richard (Patricia) Clevenger; three daughters, Patricia Dobbins of Chicago, Pamela Sue Clevenger-Walker of Peoria and Jennifer Nelson of New York, NY; two step-daughters, Cathy (Grover) Aronhalt of Chillicothe and Kim (Rick) Gibson of Peoria; one sister, Mariella (Lindy) Oedewaldt of Bartonville; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Nicholas Allen.
Janice attended Manual High School and studied at the Metropolitan College of Data Entry. She retired from Jefferson Bank in Peoria.
