Janet Brown

Janet Louise Brown, 77, of Morton, formerly of  Taylorville, passed away on April 19, 2022 at OSF Saint  Francis Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Born on July 12, 1944, Janet was the daughter of  Raymond and Lois (Peterson) Fight. She married Carl E.  Brown on October 12, 1984 in Peoria. He preceded her in  death on January 9, 2021.

Janet is survived by one daughter, Jodie (David) Simpson  of South Pekin; 2 sisters, Patricia West of Peoria; Carla (Pete Fogelberg) Fight of St. Charles, MO. She had 3  grandchildren; Cody, Jennifer & Heather. 3 great grandchildren; Lilith, Titan & Kamden. Also surviving was  her beloved cat BB (Betty Boop), who was her world.

Janet graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1963.  She drove a school bus for IVC District 321 for many  years. She was an avid CUBS fan and enjoyed gardening  and riding her bike. She loved spending time with her  family and her “Golden Girls”. She will be remembered  for her outgoing personality and her sense of humor. She  loved meeting people and making people smile.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Cumerford-Clary  Funeral Home in Peoria,IL. Burial will be held at a later  date in Taylorville,IL.
