Jack E. Valentine of Washington, passed away at 2:30 AM Monday, March 18, 2013 at Morton Terrace Nursing Home in Morton, Illinois.
He was born December 10, 1926 in Sullivan, Indiana to Elsie (Laper) and Joe Valentine. He married Bonnie (Wiesner) Valentine on December 18, 1982.
Surviving are his wife, and four step children, Bradley (Cindy), Barry (Rene), and Brent Dornon and Brenda (Michael) Wall, all of Peoria; ten Grandchildren and fourteen Great Grandchildren.
Jack was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
Jack worked for C&E Railroad in Indiana. He attended Trade School for General Electric in Chicago, and then worked for Sears in Peoria for 34 years.
Jack was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2602 and the American Legion. He was a fan of Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts. He was also an outstanding Shuffleboard player.
Visitation for Jack will be from 4-6 PM at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home in Peoria on Wednesday March 20th. Services will be held at Grace and Peace Lutheran Church at 1:00 PM on Thursday March 21st with visitation one hour prior to services. Pastor Wayne Shelkson will officiate.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
