Jack Behm, Sr.
August 3, 1940 — January 14, 2014
Jack L. Behm, Sr., 73, of Peoria, passed away at 7:55 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2014, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with Paul McGrew officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
Jack was born on August 3, 1940 in Peoria, a son of George F. and Mildred Catherine (DeRose) Behm, Sr. He married Shirley J. Bailey and later married Marcella F. Abbey. They both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, George A. Behm.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Jeff) Robinson of Peoria; son, Jack Behm, Jr. of Peoria; sisters, Mary (Harry) Cisco and Joyce (Dave) Wenzel, all of Peoria; two stepchildren; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
For over fifty years, Jack was a member of the Laborers International Union of North America Local 165 in Peoria.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cheering for the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs and listening to Country music. He was a good provider and loved family gatherings, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery in Peoria.
