Henry Louis Rickmon, 64, of Peoria, passed away at 4:22 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2014, at the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Henry was born on February, 12, 1950 in Augusta, AR, a son of Joe Willie and Elnora (Landrum) Rickmon. He married Lenora Johnson. They later divorced. He married Rosie Adams on May 28, 1989 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on June 16, 2014.
He was also preceded in death by his father, and 3 brothers, Joe Willie Rickmon, Jr., Philip E. Rickmon and Kevin Rickmon.
Henry is survived by his mother of Peoria; three sons, Louis G. (Denise) Rickmon and Craig H. (Tonya) Rickmon, both of Peoria and Sherod L. (Breanna) Rickmon of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Patience (Willie) Varist-Walton of Atlanta, GA; step-daughter, JoAnn (Kenny) Adams-Anderson of Peoria; eleven brothers and sisters, Lillie B. (Joe) Gurnee, Isaiah Rickmon of Peoria, Linda D. (Brian) Simons of Peoria, Irish Rickmon of Peoria, Doreen (Willie) Davis of Peoria, Dorothy Ann Newton of New Castle, DE, Michael L. Rickmon of Peoria, Anthony C. Rickmon of Peoria, Dorcas Y. (Robert) Rickmon-Booker of Peoria, Angela Rickmon of Peoria, Chelsea Rickmon of Peoria and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other related kin..
Henry attended Manual High School. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from SIU and worked for Caterpillar for over 35 years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
