Helen Margaret Blackman, 96, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Proctor Endowment Home in Peoria.
Helen was born on October 9, 1918 to John Henry and Lillian (Bryant) Blackman in Peoria.
She is survived by her niece, Mary Miles Frost (Mark Feingold) of Tampa, FL; great-nephew, Jason Bryant (Julianne) Frost; great-niece, Leslie Frost (Andy) Sable; and long time friend, Norma Berger of Peoria.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruth Miles and Charlotte Thayer; niece, Ruth Thayer Fariss; and a great-nephew, Matthew Frost.
Immediately after graduating from Manual High School, Helen began working for Commercial National Bank. She retired in 1983, after 47 years of dedicated service as a secretary.
A funeral service for Helen will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00am at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home, 428 West McClure Avenue, Peoria. Reverend Mary Jane West will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Parkview Cemetery.
Memorial donations in honor of Helen may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
