Gwendolyn E. Moletti, 89, of Peoria passed away at Heddington Oaks on November 24, 2014.
Gwendolyn was born on August 3, 1925 to Edward and Lura (Rown) Hancock in Ottumwa, Iowa. She married John F. Moletti on August 27, 1944 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2005.
Gwendolyn is survived by her three children; daughter, Carol Reay of East Peoria, Robert (Lynn) Moletti of Metamora, and Steven (Kathleen) Moletti of Peoria; four grandsons, William Richard (Jackie) Reay of Florence, KY, Anthony (Wendy) Reay of East Peoria, Brian Moletti of Mesa, AZ, and Kevin (Abby) Moletti of West Peoria; three granddaughters, Stephanie (Steve) Murphy of Milan, Italy, Elizabeth (Brandon) Rutz of West Peoria, and Carrie (Jeremy) Jobe of Dunlap; and three step-granddaughters, Wendy Scott of Sunnyland, Crystal Kinkead of California, and Michele DeSmet of Willow Springs, NC. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Edward W. Hancock, a son in law, William R. Reay, and one step-great-grandchild.
Gwendolyn graduated from the Peoria School of Practical Nursing in 1964 and worked as an LPN in the Pediatrics Department at Methodist Hospital for 24 years.
Gwendolyn was a lifelong member of Bradley Epworth United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Acorn Class and was a Missions chair. She made and delivered food to shut-in's, enjoyed spending time with her pets, and loved working in her garden.
A funeral service will be held for Gwendolyn on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Bradley Epworth United Methodist Church located at 1316 West Columbia Terrace in Peoria at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time at the church. Interment will be held at Prospect Cemetery in Dunlap.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Bradley Epworth United Methodist Church.
