Frida Christ

Frida Christ, 97, of Peoria passed away at Apostolic Christian Skylines on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 7:35 p.m. 

She was born on August 28, 1925 in Scheppach, Germany, the daughter of Christian and Luise Siegel Christ. She immigrated to America in October 1952 with her sister Martha.

Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Doris Christ of Peoria, IL, and Gerlinda Christ of Germany.  Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Frida is the last of 13 children in her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, Karl, Christian, Eugen, Fritz, Hermann, Walter and Kurt and 5 sisters, Johanna, Rosa, Martha, Luise, and Else.  

Frida made a living by cleaning, cooking and caring for many families over the years.  She had joy in serving and doing for others.  Although she never married, she was a special aunt and will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews who dearly loved her. 

She was a member of the Peoria Apostolic Christian Church, where services will be held. 

A service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 10am Peoria Apostolic Christian Church on Sheridan Road with the Church Ministers officiating.  Visitation will also be on Friday at the church from 9am to 9:45am.  Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery near Edwards, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Christian LifePoints, Morton, IL or Apostolic Christian Skylines, Peoria IL.
