Frank Joseph Paulsen, 81, of Chillicothe, passed away at 6:57 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on October 27, 1933 in Oak Park, the son of Earnest and Frances (Hodgson) Gildea. They preceded him in death. He was later adopted by James and Charlotte Paulsen. They also preceded him in death.
Frank is survived by his two brothers, Jim Paulsen of Tempe, AZ and John (Suzettea) Paulsen of Lexington, KY.
He graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School in 1951. He served in the US Army as a helicopter repair mechanic, and then attended Southern Illinois University and Purdue in Indiana.
Frank later retired after working for thirty years as a draftsman at Caterpillar.
He enjoyed the company of the cats that he rescued and gave them a happy home.
A p
rivate graveside service will be held, with interment at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago.
Memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s memory to the SPCA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
