Erich Isaak

Erich Isaak, 101, of Peoria, passed away at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria.
Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014, at Historic Springdale Cemetery in Peoria, with Rabbi Daniel Bogard officiating.
Erich was born on May 7, 1913 in Wallertheim, Germany, a son of Karl and Hedwing (Hertzog) Isaak. He emigrated to Bolivia, where he lived for thirty years, and married Gladys Ossio in 1940. She preceded him in death in 1969 in La Paz, Bolivia. He married Edith Koch in 1974 and she preceded him in death in 1999. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Isaak.
He is survived by his daughters, Marianne (Michael) Hamann of Boeblingen, Germany and Erika (Joanne Loomba) Williams of Cupertino, CA; son, Marcelo (Maria) Isaak of Dunlap; grandchildren, Andreas, Mike and Monika Hamann and Nina Toups and Kevin and Tatiana Isaak; and nine great grandchildren.
Erich was the Traffic Manager for Tomex Trading in New York, NY for twenty-five years and a member of the synagogue in New York.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting Germany, Israel and the Caribbean Islands, smoking a good cigar and pipe and watching soccer, especially the German National team. He was intelligent and overcame many challenges throughout his life.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
