Emma C. Keener, 94 of Washington Christian Village formerly of West Peoria died on May 15, 2013 at 7:24 PM at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.
She was born on August 19, 1918 in Peoria the daughter of Ralph J. and Nellie M. (Gramer) Titus. She married Max W. Keener on October 18, 1941 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1988.
Surviving are two children: Julie L. Carlson of Peoria and Gene L. (Linda) Keener of Hopedale; five grandchildren: Lori (Chris) Wright, Janet (Scott) Jackson, Melissa (Josh) Slager, Diana (Brock) Winkler and Amanda (Ryan) Zimmerman; twelve great grandchildren and one expected in September; a brother, Donald E. Titus of Peoria; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and two brothers, John and Ralph.
Emma was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Peoria and a member of the Neighborhood House. She enjoyed watching both the Chicago Cubs and the Bradley Braves.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home located at 428 W. McClure Ave, Peoria. Rev. Vonna Lou Larson will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to Washington Christian Village Nursing Home in Washington.
