Emily Tanner

Emily Tanner, 87, of Peoria, died on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria.

She was born August 24, 1926, in Deer Creek to Rudolph and Mina (Haefeli) Tanner.

Emily is survived by one brother, Ben Tanner of Goodfield, 33 nieces and nephews, 105 great nieces and nephews, 252 great-great nieces and nephews, and 25 great-great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by five brothers, Adolph, Gotthold, Paul, John, and an infant brother, William. Also preceding her in death are five sisters, Adele Stahl, Clara Yackley, Minnie Grusy, Mary Tanner, and Martha Tanner, and four nieces and nephews.

She retired from Caterpillar in 1982 where she worked in the parts department and did clerical work.

Emily was a member of Sheridan Road Apostolic Christian Church, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 10:30am. Visitation will be from 9:30am-10:15am prior to the service at the church, and from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home, located at 428 West McClure Avenue in Peoria.
