Donna J. (Markland) Tipton, 83, of Peoria passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center in Peoria.
Donna was born on June 20, 1931 to Joseph P. and Edith A. (Burk) Markland in Peoria. She married Robert "Bob" J. Tipton on October 16, 1954 in Peoria. Bob survives.
Donna is also survived by one daughter, Sheryl (Marty) Goble; two grandsons, Jared (Missy) Utley, and Tyler (Jessica) Utley; and four great-grandchildren, Lydia Utley, Jaxon Utley, Preston Utley, and Gemma Utley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Randy Tipton, a daughter, Pamela Schnepper, a granddaughter, Jade Schnepper, and one brother, Gerald Markland.
Donna worked for Wallick Co. as an activity director for senior housing.
Donna was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria and sang in the choir as a soloist. She was a member of the Christian Women's Association, and volunteered at the Central Illinois Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
A memorial service for Donna will be held at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home, located at 428 West McClure Avenue in Peoria on Monday, January 5, 2014 at 10:00am. Cremation rites have been accorded. Interment will be at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorials in honor of Donna may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church.
