Deloris Brown

Deloris Brown 85, of Peoria, Illinois passed away on Sunday August 6, 2023 at her residence. She was born on December 18, 1937 in Obion, Tennessee to Louis and Ruth (Wilson) Flowers. She married Luke Roy Brown Sr on September 18, 1960 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Peoria, Illinois.

She worked in the Policy Service Department for Illinois Mutual Insurance Co for many years. Deloris was a member of the Prince of Peace Church of Peoria and the Eastern Star. Deloris enjoyed traveling, reading and dancing.

Deloris is survived by her son Luke Brown (Petra Haywood) of Peoria, Illinois; two grandchildren Andre Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, Emmanuel Jamaal Brown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three nephews Ronald Erving of Coralville, Iowa, Gregory Flowers Sr of Peoria, Illinois, John Prunty of San Diego, California, three great-nephews Lionel Sledge of Peoria, Illinois, Antwan Flowers of Peoria, Illinois, Gregory Flowers Jr of Peoria, Illinois and host of cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Nancy Prunty, niece Debra Sledge and great-niece Latasha Sledge.

Cremation Rites have been entrusted to Cumerford-Clary Funeral Home of Peoria, Illinois. A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 26, 2023 at the Prince of Peace MB Church (711 E. Arcadia Ave Peoria, Illinois 61603) from 11:00am to 12:00pm.
