Danny Rowland

Danny J. “Boone” Rowland, 64, of Washington, passed away at 5:35 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013, at Holy Family Parish in Peoria, with the Franciscan Friars celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded, following Mass.
Danny was born on August 18, 1948 in Peoria, a son of Albert J. and Virginia “Virgie” (Carter) Rowland. He married Mary Louise Lawrence on July 4, 1970 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2013 in Washington. He was also preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Joey Rowland of Morton and Paul (Brandy) Rowland of East Peoria; daughter, Rebecca Rowland of Washington; grandchildren, Tara, Nathan, Josh, Kaden and Ryder; and brothers, Fred (Jeanne) Rowland of Mountain Home, AR and Wayne Rowland of Knoxville, TN.
Danny retired as a maintenance man for Washington Community High School in 2011, after eleven years of service. He was formerly employed with Caterpillar, Inc in Mapleton and East Peoria and enjoyed helping his sons in their business, Rowland Heating and Cooling.
He was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish and volunteered at the church. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, family cookouts, walking his dog and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Danny was a hard-worker and very dedicated, trustworthy and forgiving. He was a humble person and loving father, with a glowing spirit and a great sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help anyone in need.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Danny’s memory to the FBO Rowland Grandchildren Memorial Fund at Washington Community Bank.
