Carolyn Parsons

Carolyn (McGinn) Parsons, 76, of West Peoria passed away on December 8, 2014 at OSF Hospital.
She was born to James and Claudia (Bickerman) McGinn on April 15, 1938 in Peoria. She married Dale Parsons in June of 1966 in Peoria. They divorced in 1985, but remained best friends. He survives.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Suzanne) Parsons of Lafayette, CA; a daughter, Michelle Parsons of Galesburg; two grandsons, Patrick Parsons of West Peoria, whom Carolyn raised as her son, and Nicholas Mcmahill of Galesburg. Carolyn is also survived by a brother, Pat (Joanne) McGinn of Wyoming, and several nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jack McGinn, Jim McGinn, and Bill McGinn; and one sister, Marion Shoemaker.
After graduating from Wyoming High School, Carolyn worked for CEFCU, where, in her 30 years there, progressed from bank teller to loan officer. She attended Holy Family Church, and loved flowers, gardening, and sewing.
A funeral mass for Carolyn will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church located at 3720 Sterling Avenue in Peoria on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00am. Father Tony Labedis OFM Conv. will officiate. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Camp Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Carolyn may be made to her family.
