Carol was born in Peoria on April 5, 1946, a daughter of Philip Victor and Alice B. (Neff) Atteberry-Curry. They preceded her in death, along with one sister, Sandra “Sandy” Hudson.
She married Thomas J. Carroll, Jr. on January 14, 1967 at St. Philomena Parish in Peoria. He survives.
Carol is also survived by her daughter, Molly (Chris) DuBois of Schaumburg; granddaughter, Charlotte DuBois of Schaumburg; sister, Verita “Vicki” (Dave) Reliford of Germantown Hills; brother, Michael (Patti) Atteberry of Lacon; stepbrothers, Paul (Donna) Curry of Mossville, Pete (Nancy) Curry of Montana; Jim (Mary) Curry of Washington, Mike (Mary) Curry of Metamora, Tom (Carlene) Curry of Chillicothe and Joe (Lynn) Curry of Peoria; and stepsisters, Pat Ring of Peoria, Jeri (Deacon Bob) Myers of Peoria and Faye (Jack) Hill of Spring Bay.
She was last employed as the Assistant Coordinator with Lifeline at OSF Home Care Services. She was formerly employed in Employee Benefits with Caterpillar, Inc. and at the Germantown Hills Animal Clinic.
Carol was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Metamora, was formerly a member of the Society of Junior Peorians, volunteered monthly for St. Augustine Manor, actively supported seniors in the community and enjoyed her Bunco group for over thirty years.
She loved shopping, traveling, crafts, crossword puzzles and reading. She enjoyed reading, listening to “The Golden Oldies” and collecting frogs.
Carol’s greatest accomplishment in life was being a great wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved spending time at The Biltmore Mansion in Ashville, NC or anywhere with her daughter and granddaughter. In addition to her immediate family, she also loved spending time with her extended family of nieces, nephews and Bunco Buddies.
She was a person that everyone loved. She was kind and loving to everyone she met. She loved being with people, especially her family. She was truly an angel here on earth.
