Bonnie Overmeyer

Bonnie Elsa Nelson Overmeyer, 89, passed away February 12, 2013 at Lutheran Hillside Village, Peoria, Illinois.

She was born October 3, 1923 in Kankakee, IL to Albert B. and Elsa Lezotte Nelson. She married Norris W. Overmeyer on August 10, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2000.

Bonnie graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Urbana, IL in 1947. Throughout her nursing career she worked in a doctor's office, Proctor Community Hospital and Zeller Zone Center (Mental Health.)

Surviving are her children, Terry (Patricia/Pogo) Overmeyer of Tucson, AZ; Sue (Donald) Heytman of Peoria, IL; Dale Overmeyer of Pickerington, OH and David (Beverly) Overmeyer of East Peoria, IL. Also, surviving are 5 grandchildren: Paul (Emily) Heytman of Erwin, NC; Andrew Heytman of Peoria, IL; Ryan Overmeyer, of Peoria, IL; Emma Overmeyer of Bloomington, IL and Cory Overmeyer of Pickerington, OH. Also surviving are two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, and daughter-in-law Janis Overmeyer.

Bonnie was a member of Waters of Life Chapel, Lutheran Hillside Village, 6901 N. Galena Rd, Peoria, IL where services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens, 4601 W War Memorial Dr., Peoria, IL at 10:00 AM. Pastor Paul Park will officiate.

In honor of the excellent care provided by Lutheran Hillside Village, memorials may be given in Bonnie's name to the Lutheran Hillside Village Foundation, 6901 N Galena Rd., Peoria, IL 61614-3111.
