Bob Fowler

Bob F. Fowler, 77, of Peoria Heights, passed away at 6:35 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with Pastor Shawn Harding officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, with military honors by the U.S. Navy.
Bob was born on February 28, 1937 in Parthenon, AR, a son of Frank and Victoria Lea (Waters) Fowler. They preceded him in death, along with a son, Gregory Robert Fowler, his twin brother, Bill Fowler, and his sisters, Anna Jean Horn and Mary Woods.
He married Shirley E. Bridges on October 22, 1961 at Laramie Street Baptist Church in Peoria. She survives.
Bob is also survived by his son, Brad (Jenny) Fowler of Peoria Heights; daughter, Marci (Dan) Foutch of Rock Falls; grandchildren, Kelcey, Kailyn, Alexa and Caleb; and brothers, Jesse Fowler of Peoria and Homer (Sally) Fowler of Minier.
He was the head meat cutter for Korsmeyer’s Super Market in Pekin. He retired in 1998, after fifty years of service.
Bob was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Peoria and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Borie (DD-704) destroyer and the USS Albemarle (AV-5) tender from 1957 to 1961.
