Betty Rosson

Betty J. Rosson, 79, of Canton, passed away at 3:25 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Hanna City United Methodist Church, with Pastor Robert L. DeBolt officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
Betty was born on November 1, 1934 in Baton Rouge, LA, a daughter of William and Ruby (Bell) Raymond. She married Gareth W. “Bill” Rosson on June 18, 1949 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2013 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Max) Lalicker of Brimfield; son, Gary (Karen Benge-) Rosson of Boulder, CO; stepdaughter, Marilyn (Don) Piper of Georgetown, TX; sister, Nancy (Jeff) Stoops of Bargersville, IN; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and niece, LeAnne Hester of Indianapolis.
Betty was last employed as the Activity Director at Victoria Palms in Donna, TX. She was formerly employed at the Peoria YWCA and the Peoria Journal Star.
She enjoyed gardening, crafts and sewing. She loved her life on the lake, nature, cooking, her dogs and most importantly, her children and grandchildren.
